STEVIA DEL CONDADO

Stevia Del Condado was started in 2013 with the intention of building a vertically integrated system. Basing itself on five basic pillars: employment, health, innovation, taking advantage of natural resources, and sustainable development; Stevia Del Condado is able to provide solutions for problems that arise.
Some solutions we’ve provided:
• Reducing consumption of dangerous sugars for human beings.
• Innovating and developing products adaptable to people with certain diseases, like diabetes or celiac.
• Improving the health and quality of life with high-quality ecological products.
What differentiates us from other companies?
• Complete vertical integration, from production to commercialization: with this step the Stevia leaf is improved, its homogeneity and above all, the quality of the final product is consistent.
• Production is carried out with our own seeds: seeds that were adapted naturally to the Jaen land, and by extension, Andalusia.
• Ecological processing and packaging: certification in process.
• Absence of chemical compositions: there is not a single chemical component in any of the products with our seal.
Today we’re moving our product towards a demanding public goal committed to society, the environment, and quality. The whole integration process, including extraction of steviol glycosides, is done in Andalusia.
Among the countries that have shown interest, the most outstanding are: France, Germany, Holland, the UK, the US, Japan, and others.

NIWA

With the growth of the world population (2000 million people now living in urban centers) the system of food production isn´t sustainable, in fact, nowadays in many cities it is very difficult or expensive to get quality vegetables
Urban vegetable gardens are in growth and each time there are more popular. According to the FAO, 800 million people are already developing agricultural activities in urban cities. The problem is that cultivation is not simple: it requires time, knowledge, and currently there isn´t technology that simplifies it. In addition, urban spaces are reduced in a way that current technologies lack the ability to maximize yield per square meter.
Niwa is a cloud platform made for mini-greenhouses and an app that automates and optimizes cultivation so that everyone can farm at home. Choose what you want to grow en the Niwa app and the greenhouse and the steps for growing it will be downloaded, and the app will then begin to monitor the conditions for growth.

BOTANICA FURNITURE EXPERIENCES

In BOTANICA Company we are doing walls on which plants grow. We are developing clean farming systems, automatic and very easy to use for people with no knowledge of agriculture.
In order to bring this incredible user experience, the system consists of: a structure shaped vertical wall, seeds and everything necessary for the full development of the plant, a hydraulic installation monitored with controlled by a microcontroller connected to the Internet sensors ( IoT) and finally a mobile App as a user guide explaining in detail all the steps to cultivate each variety and resolve all problems that may arise.

Such application also monitors the data extracted by the sensors, it warns the user whether to add any of our accessories (light, heater …) or add water to the installation and finally allows the client to communicate with other users and access the online store to buy new systems or subscribe to regular deliveries of seedlings, seeds or other accessories.

Compared to traditional farming land, our walls growing significantly consume less water, reduce the likelihood of crop diseases, do not use pesticides or chemicals that are harmful to the environment and health and also can produce up to 4 times more in the same culture surface due to cultivation techniques using high performance.

ECOREGIÓ

ACTION ZONE

In which countries and regions are you engaged?
We are in Spain (Catalonia, Barcelona –Girona –Tarragona), also we have partner in Madrid and Andalucía.
For our global vocation we have networking activity in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Ashoka international has selected Ecoregió within 12 projects to be promoted in Portugal, Spain, Italy and Greece.
The European programme SEFORIS, has selected Ecoregió to be studied and promoted on eurozone, Russia and China.
Objectives

Describe your objectives (different from the impact model).
Empower citizens of the economical region through MicroCapital.
To make available the access to land and enough capital for social entrepreneurs.
Increasing the organic food and crops.

IMPACT MODEL

The problematic you address and how your project will solve the problem?
The problematic are the continuous deterioration of agriculture by negative impacts social, environment and economy caused by global situation.
Ecoregió accomplishes 5 objectives of the sustainable development of UN, and also 11 actions of the Catalan Government Organic Food Plan.
All this plans and objective want to increase the organic surface and consum.
Our model uses MicroCapital to build a stronger network between consumers, farmers and all business around organic food.
Empower citizens of the economical region through MicroCapital.
MicroCapital are shares from 500€ to 50.000€. EcoRegio invests in organic food companies of the region from all the value creation chain (production, elaboration, distribution and services)
Our German model has got 4M€ from 700 persons. It has created 150 jobs and 20 companies. This model is Ashoka fellow since 2009.

MEANS
How much human and financial means do you presently have at your disposal?
In Spain we have 70.000€ of social capital from 200.000€ that we need.
154 hectares of land assigned free.
A Promoter Team, lieder by Oriol Costa, president of Dynamislab, Living Lab for sustainability. Included Joan Antoni Melé who was lieader of ethic bank on Spain, or Joaquin Echavarri of Roedl & partner (who is client of Degroof Bank too)

ECOREGIO, SL was formed to promote the brand and create local ecoregions at national and international level with the following conditions.
Ecoregions may join EcoRegió Global capital injections of 2500 to € 50,000.

Members can participate in the development of the implementation of new Ecoregions. And other sustainable development projects. DynamisLab brings experience Llavorae Innovative Project of job creation in organic farming (0.8M €). Especially the creation of virtual tools for agriculture. MODULAR CONCEPT

NEW BIOCLIMATIC CONCEPT

Based on the use of large prefabricated blocks of reinforced concrete with ecological cement (patent n P20140082-PCT), we design and create highly energy-efficient spaces for residential, office, industrial, farming and military use, among other possibilities. The technical characteristics of these prefabricated blocks enable us to bury them underground, using THE EARTH as the main natural insulation medium, with the addition of sustainable waterproofing materials. We are thus able to create any kind of bioclimatic space for any kind of use. This innovative project has several advantages over other methods of construction.

ENERGY SAVING:

HEATING & COOLING 86,79%
ELECTRICITY AND LIGHTING 28 – 38%
WATER 20 – 30%

It conforms to the latest EU Energy Efficiency Directive(2012/27/EU) as well as the corresponding Spanish legislation (RD235/2013).

Enables every project to be PASSIVHAUS and LEED certified.

Preserves green spaces.

As a dry construction method, it does not generate building waste.

Uses sustainable, eco-friendly materials which may have had previous uses.

Minimal environmental impact.

Minimal carbon footprint, due to its high energy efficiency and the use of active and passive strategies.

Enables future extensions and design changes without affecting overall aesthetics.

Can be complementary to other types of existing or planned construction.

Practically zero-maintenance, only requires that of any landscaped surface.

Saves time and costs: three construction phases (foundations, structure and roofing) reduced to one.

Short lead times: dry construction means structure is finished once blocks are in place.

Robust and hardwearing construction gives feeling of solidity.
